The ’American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers« (ASHRAE), the organization that governs the standard for temperature and humidity ranges in data center environments, determined in 2011 that a Class A1 data center must maintain a temperature between 15 °C and 32 °C, and a relative humidity from 20 to 80%.

Temperature is obviously the crucial parameter to monitor in order to anticipate any risk excessive temperature variations. Overheating can lead to long shutdown times.’unscheduled downtime servers, damage or disable destroy material or valuable computer components (CPU, GPU, storage), or worse still, cause a fire... Without reaching that point, a breakdown implies downtime that impacts the financial performance of the plant, and the confidence of customers.

Over and above the safety aspect, thermal and hygrometric monitoring of datacenters has a number of advantages. numerous financial and environmental challenges. In fact, this sector is high electricity consumption. By 2030, the datacenters in the world could use 10% of world electricity production in 2030 (compared with «only» 3 % at present), and generate 14% of CO2 emissions emissions by 2040. Solutions to reduce their environmental impact must therefore be integrated to reduce the carbon footprint of datacenters. Keeping a room at 27°C instead of 22°C, for example, enables the chilled water system to be turned up, resulting in substantial savings.. As a reminder, on average, nearly 40 % of consumption of a datacenter is allocated to cooling.

Several types of measuring instruments are available to ensure the serenity and efficiency of your installations. These include :

Visit thermo-hygrometersThese are perfectly suited to this type of monitoring, as they measure temperature coupled with hygrometry (relative humidity), and are thus able to calculate the dew point temperature. These parameters are extremely important for datacenters, which require controlled humidity levels to avoid electrostatic discharges caused by excessively dry air. This is to avoid excessive humidity, which leads to oxidation and premature aging of components.

Visit thermocouple thermometersThey measure the critical temperatures of the hottest components in servers (power supplies, processors, memory and heatsinks). They also monitor the overheating and undercooling temperatures of the refrigerant in the air-conditioning units (CRAC, for «Computer Room Air Conditioning»), to make sure they're working properly.

Visit pressure sensors (manometers)Pitot or DEBIMO probes for air flow measurement. It is essential to monitor the differential pressure across the air filters (to determine the degree of clogging, and to plan filter changes to reduce operational downtime). Air filters are also very important in preventing the build-up of dust, which catalyzes the formation of electrostatic discharges. Pressure sensors can also be used within hermetically-sealed server rooms (between the cool air intake area in front of the servers - «cold aisles» - and the hot air exhaust area - «hot aisles») to monitor the overpressure of the cold zone in relation to the hot zone, and optimize the overall cooling flow.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????? ???????????? produits, ???????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????://????????????.????????????????????????????.????????/ ???????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????@????????????????????????????.????????

#datacenter #bigdata #gestiondedonnees #risque #capteur #mesure #temperature #humidite #pression

Internet technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, cloud computing... are driving an explosion in the amount of data produced worldwide, and consequently in the number of datacenters needed to manage and store it.

According to market research by Grand View Research, the global data center market should see a annual growth rate of 11.7% between 2021 and 2028.
In this fast-growing sector requirements and the challenges are many:

ensure service continuity

implement agile solutions in case of unforeseen events

securing installations

respond to energy transition challenges

optimize performance infrastructure

while guaranteeing profitability

[37

post-6148","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-actualites
["GET
