

In very high-power motors, alternators or generators (several tens of megawatts), the stator windings are subjected to considerable thermal heating. This can lead to premature motor wear or reduced machine efficiency.
For easy detection of all motor stator overheating and consistent thermal monitoring, Mesurex has developed the notched PT100 probe LE1 .
This probe is the fruit of a long R&D effort to select: the suitable insulators (multi-layer Teflon or Kapton), a special Epoxy insert (with holding time up to 180°C), and suitable connecting wires (in 3 or 4 wires). The prototype was also subjected to numerous temperature testing (0°C to 100°C) and insulation tests to guarantee perfect operation at 5kV.
The final LE1 product from Mesurex allows you to measure temperatures from -20°C to 180°C. Its dimensional characteristics (flat, thin, rectangular with a long sensitive zone) allow it to be placed in the stator slots of motors to easily detect any overheating.
These products respect PT100 standard NF EN 60751, and the EDF specifications HN-51-S-01.
Various sizes are available as standard, depending on the insulation voltage required:
80mm x 10mm x 2.5mm (5000V) ■ 80mm x 7.5mm x 2mm (3000V) ■ 50mm x 8mm x 2mm (3000V) ■ 50mm x 5mm x 2mm (3000V) ■ 80mm x 8.3mm x 2.5mm (5000V), but customizable formats according to customer needs.
In addition, Mesurex provides special care during assembly to avoid any problems with subsequent insulation. In its metrology laboratory, Mesurex also performs dielectric tests on each probe to validate its insulation resistance. Each probe is delivered with its own calibration report and test certificate (temperature measurement, dielectric test validation, dimensional test, etc.).
